Cleaning and cleansing - the purifying bath

Before doing any works pertaining to the Light path, you have to always have this in mind: the magic space cannot be clean if the physical space is not, and you cannot do cleasings if on the physical plane there is uncleanliness and clutter. Don't think that a symbolic widdershins sweeping with your broom will do much if before that you didn't practically sweep the floor clean. Don't think that the incense smoke will purify a space that is covered in dust. Or that you will be able to cleanse a house if you didn't thoroughly wash and purified yourself.

The purifying bath is always a pre-requisite in any important work of the Light path as well as in rituals and celebrations. There are 13 magical herbs that will be thrown in the bath water. Same for a big pitcher of water that will be used to sprinkle with, before starting anything, the sacred space, the altar, and your tools. The same "13 herbs" water can be spelled for protection, and you have to wipe and sprinle all the "openings of the house", that is, doorsills, windowsills, fireplaces, vents, anything that can constitute a physical entrance in your house, yes, even sink drains, as well as the "otherworld doors", that is, any mirror in your house.

The 13 magic plants are: basil, lovage, sage, hyssop, mistletoe, wood sanicle, valerian, sweet mint, monkshood, wormwood, bugleweed, fern and poppy.
